We convey Japanese culture
through kimonos.
Himeya supports life’s key moments through kimono—beginning with Coming-of-Age Day and extending to weddings and other family celebrations.
We value the ties that unite families on such special days, aiming to create experiences filled with smiles and memories that endure.
Founded over 75 years ago and based in Kobe, we remain committed to sharing the depth and beauty of Japanese culture through kimono.
About HIMEYA
Himeya in Kobe is a long-trusted, leading local kimono store. We carry one of the city’s largest selections, with around 150 furisode (formal long-sleeved kimono) available at all times. Our affiliated company, Kobe KALEN, offers kimono rentals and operates a photo studio. At Himeya, we help you create cherished memories through kimono.
About KIMONO
Kimono is traditional Japanese clothing.
It suits many occasions—from formal events like weddings and Coming-of-Age ceremonies to casual outings and sightseeing.
To choose, think about when, where, and what mood you want.
Fabrics change with the season, and the obi (sash) plus accessories complete the look.
At Himeya, our experienced staff provide friendly, step-by-step support: dressing (kitsuke), styling, and color coordination that photographs beautifully.
We also offer complimentary consultations about kimono—please feel free to contact us.
Our Services
At Himeya, we sell kimono and also offer friendly consultations on styling and kimono care (Kimono Clinic), along with support for a range of related needs.
Our collection is carefully curated: high-quality pieces from lifetime formal wear—tomesode, houmongi, and iromuji—to seasonal outfits for casual outings.
